Web Design Book - New BBC Homepage

The BBC launched a new homepage today.

So what?  Well, it’s the first real attempt by the BBC to use web standards and to make the homepage accessible.

It’s not perfect, but it’s a good start and a real coup for the Web Standards movement.

Gone are the days when people can turn around and say “well if tables are so bad why do the BBC use them?”

OK, they’re not quite gone, but the days of tables on the BBC website appear to be numbered, at least.

Google have just lauched quite a funky feature, which could be handy for anybody who wants to add live support to their website.

I’ve had flu for the last 2 weeks and keep on waing up in the middle of the night with bouts of couching.

Anyway, to give me something to do at 4am, I had a look on Amazon for Web Design in easy steps.

Turns out it’s 3rd in the web design bestseller list, which isn’t bad considering it was out over a year ago. It’s also the 2,742th best-selling book on Amazon overall - just behind the latest Harry Potter (well, a few thousand places behind).

I’ve just been reading about a bizarre new Internet trend called “Sleeveface”.

Basically, you get your picture taken with a record sleeve over your face.  The twist is that the record sleeve needs to feature a person’s face.  You have to see it to believe it.
