Web Design Book - Anna Nicole Smith - that was quick

Spammers might suck, but they sure do know how to take advantage of current events.

I just received a spam email with the subject “Anna Nicole Smith: The Next Chapter”.

This was less than half a day since she died.

Obviously, it’s totally deplorable to try to benefit financially from another person’s death.

However, after over a decade on the Web, I’ve grown immune to looking at spam - yet even I looked at this one. So, it does show that an event that’s in the news does grab people’s attention - especially if there’s a “car crash” element to the story.
